The San Francisco 49ers have placed an "Original Round" restricted free agent tender on inside linebacker Larry Grant, Matt Maiocco of CSN Bay Area reports. Restricted free agent tender amounts have not been released, but are scheduled to increase at the same rate as the salary cap, with a minimum increase of 5 percent. With the salary cap not expected to increase by much, if any amount, the amount of low tender (Original Round/Right of First Refusal) will be $1.26 million, a 5 percent increase over last year's tender of $1.2 million in non-guaranteed base salary. If another club were to sign Grant to an offer sheet that the 49ers declined to match, San Francisco would be awarded a seventh round draft choice. Grant could draw interest during the restricted free agent signing period, potentially from the Seattle Seahawks, where former 49ers general manager Scot McCloughan is now a personnel executive.
