49ers quarterback Alex Smith had a full-supporter in personnel director Scot McCloughan. Through struggling play, injury, controversy with the head coach, estrangement in the locker room and lost training camp battles, McCloughan stuck with Smith, defended him publicly and privately, and was redeemed when Smith won back the job in the middle of last year. The San Jose Mercury News writes that there may be more support for a change at quarterback with McCloughan no longer standing in the way. Source: San Jose Mercury News
They won't replace Smith even with Scot gone unless someone else shows he's better, and with what we have I don't see that happening this season, damn it.
Dink and dunk, run the ball and win with defense until Nate Davis is ready. I dont see why he should be ready by 2011 That divisions weak, and the 49ers are probably 1 pass rusher away from a playoff defense, which should be good for the division crown
I liked Carr coming out of Fresno State but the Texans ruined him, the bastards....I wonder what number he's going to wear.
