A week after he was signed by San Francisco, nine-year veteran quarterback Seneca Wallace didn’t travel with the 49ers for tonight’s preseason finale against the Chargers because of “personal reasons,†a team spokesman said. When he was signed, Wallace, 33, was expected to compete with Colt McCoy for the backup job. After Sunday’s win over Minnesota, however, Jim Harbaugh declared McCoy was the No. 2 quarterback behind Colin Kaepernick. It is widely expected that Wallace will be cut when the 49ers trim their roster down to 53 players by 3 p.m. Saturday. The 49ers, who waived quarterback Scott Tolzien this week, will dress just three quarterbacks tonight: Kaepernick, McCoy and seventh-round pick B.J. Daniels, who figures to see substantial playing time. Source: San Francisco Chronicle
