49ers quarterback Alex Smith suffered a concussion in the second quarter last Sunday against the Cowboys. He didn’t report it to the team’s medical staff until after the game. If he had reported it right after it occurred, then he would’ve had to leave the game, which would’ve given way to rookie Colin Kaepernick. As CSNBayArea.com’s Matt Maiocco points out, at some point in the season, Kaepernick will have to step up and show his worth. “Kaepernick remains one snap away from being called upon,†Maiocco said. Maiocco spoke with Kaepernick on Thursday, and he told Maiocco that he’s ready for whatever. “The more you practice it, the better you feel with it,†Kaepernick said. “I’m very confident in everything we’re doing.†Source: Football News Now
I wonder if they'd open up the offense up more with him. With his quicker release and ability to extend a play.
Can't wait to see Colin Kaepernick take over, I don't think Alex Smith won't ever see the field again unless Colin gets hurt. Kaepernick has more talent in his nose hair than Alex has altogether. If the 49ers can get their crap together the NFC West would be very fun to watch.:violent16:
