During his weekly news conference, 49ers defensive coordinator Vic Fangio was careful to circumvent the misstep made by Cowboys counterpart Rob Ryan two weeks ago according to Matthew Barrows of the Sacramento Bee. Asked about Johnson before the Cowboys-Lions game, Ryan shrugged and said that if he played for the Cowboys, Johnson might be the team's third-best receiver. Johnson responded with 96 receiving yards and caught two fourth-quarter touchdown passes that powered the Lions' 34-30 come-from-behind win. Fangio's take on Johnson: "First off, I want to say he would be the best receiver on our team, not the third best. So we have a tremendous amount of respect for him." Fangio called Johnson, who is in his fifth season, a bigger, more powerful version of Randy Moss in the way he can stretch the field and haul in deep passes. "He's listed at 235 (pounds)," Fangio said. "I think he might be more than that. He's just a rare guy. He's that big but yet runs as fast as he does. He's a real challenge for you in the coverage area." Source: The Redzone
wow Vic is still around? He was on Jim Mora's staff in the 80's. Lots of coaches on that staff is still coaching today.
maybe he should just let Megatron get his but shut down everyone else. Difficult to shut down Calvin, if not impossible. That works sometimes. Teams get so worried about one player that others get open easier.
