Tiki Barber’s agent has come to his defense after the former New York Giants running back received heavy criticism for making an analogy to Holocaust victim Anne Frank in an article that appeared in this week's edition of Sports Illustrated. Speaking to reporter L. Jon Wertheim, Barber made the analogy when discussing going into hiding with his young girlfriend after he and his pregnant wife separated. Barber said, for a short time, they stayed agent Mark Lepselter’s attic. "Lep's Jewish," Barber told Sports Illustrated. "And it was like a reverse Anne Frank thing." On Thursday, Lepselter responded to critics via an interview with ESPNNewYork.com. "In a world where nothing surprises me, where things get completely blown out of proportion, this only adds to the list," Lepselter said in the report. "All Tiki was saying to Jon was he was shedding light on going back to that time when he was literally trapped, so to speak, in my attic for a week. Nothing more, nothing less. Let me remind all those who want to make this more than it is: Tiki was a guest of (president) Shimon Peres in Israel five years ago." Source: Sporting News
His agent is just as much of an ignoramus for trying to explain Tiki's statement considering he's jewish....freaking idiots...
well that changes everything for me, here's a guy with no vested interest in tiki coming to his defense and calling everyone out for their hyperboling. poor tiki. imp2:
