The agent for Tampa Bay Buccaneers guard Davin Joseph does not expect his client to receive the franchise tag, Rick Stroud of the St. Petersburg Times reports. "I would be surprised if they used the franchise tag on Davin," Ben Dogra, Joseph's agent, said. "I don't see that happening." A first-round pick out of the University of Oklahoma in 2006, Joseph (6-3, 313) has started 67 of the 68 games he's been active. Joseph missed the final five weeks of the 2010 season with a broken foot. Joseph, who went to the Pro Bowl after the 2008 season, earned $3.92 million in base salary in 2010, the final year of his five-year rookie contract. To franchise Joseph would cost the Buccaneers the average of the Top 5 offensive linemen in 2010, a tender worth slightly more than $10.5 million.
