The agent for Lions tight end Will Heller said he's had conversations with Lions general manager Martin Mayhew and he's optimistic a deal with get done, possibly as soon as Friday, to keep Heller in Detroit. "Will likes it there in Detroit and it's a good situation for him," agent Phillip Williams said. Heller had 29 catches for 296 yards and three touchdowns last year. Tight end Brandon Pettigrew is still rehabbing from a torn ACL, and with his status for the start of training camp and the beginning of the season in doubt, signing Heller might bring some needed stability to the position for the Lions.
