Vikings wide receiver Bernard Berrian never meshed with Brett Favre in either of the past two seasons and missed a golden opportunity to prove his worth when Rice and Harvin went down. He has deep speed, but Berrian was not able to make plays downfield and averaged only nine yards a catch. His effort was suspect, and he was overmatched against better, more physical cornerbacks. All signs point to the Vikings cutting him, with a contract that calls for him to make $4 million next season. Source: Pro Football Weekly
Jerry Angelo and the McCaskeys bet bashed a lot for being cheap. In this case, Berrian has proven them right, that he's not worth the money.
Berrian was fast and at the right place at the right time. The market set his price. I do wonder though if Berrian would have been better off staying with the Bears if you took the dollars and cents out of it.
Yeah you can't blame him for taking advantage of the market. He did kind of get hecked by the emergence of Sid Rice and Percy Harvin after he had a pretty good season his first year in Minny.
TWO games with more than 2 receptions this year. One game with more than 30 yards (two with 30 on the nose). 28 total receptions. Poor guy has been hamstrung for the last two years, best of luck to him if he goes elsewhere, though.
