Wide receiver Andre Johnson denied a report that he has a plan in place to force a trade if the Texans do not make the playoffs. In a story in the current issue of ESPN the Magazine, his uncle, Andre Melton, who also serves as his agent, tells the magazine they have a plan to force a trade but refuses to discuss the details. "That didn't come from me," Johnson said after practice Saturday. "I wish he hadn't said what he said, but that's his opinion. I make my own decisions, and I plan on being here until I retire. I'm not going to lie: He (Melton) has brought it to my attention, and he has a right to his opinion. I didn't go to him with it. I don't think it's a big deal." Johnson said he spoke with general manager Rick Smith to let him know there's not a problem. "I didn't want the organization to worry about it," Johnson said. "That's not something I'm thinking about. Like I said, I want to finish my career here. I talked to Rick, and we killed it. That's it." Source: Houston Chronicle
Fixed That's all a part of being an agent. It's gotta be tough when a family member is the agent and saying STFU becomes more involved.
