The Minnesota Vikings’ bid for a new suburban football stadium is facing a new obstacle as a key state senator says she wants to require a public vote on the project. Senate Majority Leader Amy Koch (COKE) tells The Associated Press that Ramsey County voters who would be paying a proposed half-cent sales tax increase should get to vote on it. Supporters of the stadium proposal in a suburb north of St. Paul have predicted voters would defeat the tax increase and kill the whole project. Koch spoke Thursday, a few hours after a team official said the Vikings might be willing to increase their share of costs to get the deal done. The team is in the final year of its lease at the Metrodome. Source: Associated Press
