Report: AFL to suspend play for 2009

Denver, CO (Sports Network) - The Arena Football League will reportedly announce before the end of the week that the league will suspend play for the 2009 season.
The Rocky Mountain News reported the story on its website earlier Wednesday. The league has faced trouble in the offseason as longtime commissioner David Baker resigned in July and no replacement has been named.

I loved going to the Storm games. They are the only thing that kinda tied me over until the next football season.

 

I haven't gotten a chance to go to any games, but the more football the better!

The rumour was, that the AFL purchased the naming rights for the NFLE teams from the NFL and going to start a indoor league soon. Smaller teams, smaller and cheaper venues and smaller salaries - could have worked...

 

Maybe it still can work, who knows...
