A lifelong Atlanta Braves fan who fell about 85 feet to his death at the team's stadium was waiting out a rain delay in a smoking area and talking to his mother on the phone shortly before the accident. Ronald Lee Homer Jr., 30, had just told his mother that the rain was letting up and he was about to head to his seat for the game against the Philadelphia Phillies on Monday night. At least four witnesses told police that no one else was standing near him when he fell over a 42-inch high, fourth-level railing into a parking lot for players. "He said `I love you mom, and I said `I love you too' and that was it," his mother, Connie Homer, said in an interview on Tuesday morning. Source: ESPN
Re: Atlanta Braves Fan Was Standing Alone Before Fatal Fall At Turner Field Police Sa RIP 6' 6"... Railing must have hit him above the knee. The architect on this should have been designing the parking lot curbs where he fell to.
Re: Atlanta Braves Fan Was Standing Alone Before Fatal Fall At Turner Field Police Sa I immediately suspect Hamiltons involvement.
Re: Atlanta Braves Fan Was Standing Alone Before Fatal Fall At Turner Field Police Sa Stuff like this is always sad to hear. RIP
Re: Atlanta Braves Fan Was Standing Alone Before Fatal Fall At Turner Field Police Sa i wish they would figure out some ways to make certain areas of these stadiums safer. where this guy fell it could have easily had a higher barrier. it wasn't in the park itself so it's not blocking the view of the game or anything.
Re: Atlanta Braves Fan Was Standing Alone Before Fatal Fall At Turner Field Police Sa remember a few years back when a fan fell and he landed into a net which saved him? maybe all the mlb teams should figure out a way to hang these in some of the more dangerous places that people have fell from in these places.this has happened way too much for MLB to ignore it.
