In declaring himself eligible for the 2011 NFL draft on Friday Auburn DL Nick Fairley also made a point in saying he’d prefer not to play for any teams in cold weather cities. When answering questions following his announcement, the Mobile, Alabama native said the following when asked if he has an NFL team he’d like to play for, “It doesn’t matter as long as it’s not cold.†Of course someone has to tell Fairley he has no say in where he’s going to be playing in the NFL. If Carolina doesn’t take him first overall, he’s got a good chance of playing in a cold weather NFL city with Denver, Buffalo, Cincinnati and Cleveland holding the second, third, fourth and sixth picks respectively Source: BuffaloBills.com
Comeon dude, you're built like a freaking tank, but worried about a little bit of cold weather. He already sounds like a future Albert Haynesworth.
If i'm a GM or owner of a cold weather team and after just hearing this, I don't want Fairley either. If he doesn't want to be here, why bother with him? What a great attitude to have and the scouting combine hasn't even happened yet.
1. Panthers 2. Broncos 3. Bills 4. Bengals 5. Cardinals 6. Browns 7. 49ers 8. Titans 9. Cowboys 10. Redskins So eliminate 5 out of the Top 10 teams because the weather is "cold?" Maybe costing him millions? Smart move...
Just looking at that, I don't see Fairley getting past #4. Tons of people don't think he'll get past #2. In reality, who prefers playing in cold weather? Not a lot of people.
Just think about the amount of crap he'll get when he visits his first "cold weather city" to play. The difference between the 2nd and the 10th pick was 22.5 million guaranteed and 40.2 if they both get max value out of their contracts from 2010. 22.5 million would buy a lot of coats.
Mobile has sent a lot of talent to the NFL, but the last two they sent may end up being the two laziest.
Exactly what I thought when I read this. He's going to make millions playing a game that millions wish they could play. stfu take the money and then stfu some more.
John Elway said he didn't want to play in a cold weather city also and called Baltimore dirty and cold....so he went to the ROCKY MOUNTAINS where it never snows.....Kid's playing his cards already. On a side note.....I think he's a dirty player and doesn't bother me if he doesn't want to play for Pittsburgh (He'd never last till last pick of draft any way)
