Baseball Players Don't Like College

    By scouring 30 team media guides, The Count investigated how many ballplayers went to four-year U.S. colleges or universities, which of them graduated. Shockingly, while many current major leaguers had college experience, we found only 26 (including managers), who have earned degrees.

    MLB rosters have 25 players per team & there are 30 teams. Wow.

    It's because these kids are being pressured by the money and glory of playing pro ball. Instead of going back later, most just say the hell with it.

    Not too surpising seeing that Strausburg (San Diego St pitcher) that went #1 will probably sign a contract in the neighborhood of 50 to 60 million.

    They can get drafted out of high school, and even if they don't make the big time, they can make a living in the minors.

    I knew a lot of guys in high school that went pro, mostly pitchers. Why waste the development time in college when you can get "better" instruction in the minors.
