The Chicago Bears are not going to wait around for veteran cornerback Trumaine McBride to return from a sprained right knee as they waived him injured on Thursday to make room for rookie cornerback DeAngelo Smith. McBride is an undersized seventh-round pick from 2007 who started nine games as a rookie but developed into primarily a special teams player. Smith, a fifth-round pick by the Dallas Cowboys this year from Cincinnati, was claimed off waivers from the Cleveland Browns. Source: National Football Post
