Defensive tackle Nate Collins will explore the open market before he decides whether to return to the Chicago Bears on what he figures will be a one-year offer. Collins, who was a part of the defensive tackle rotation for nine games last season, said the team is not going to tender him as a restricted free agent, news first reported by ESPNChicagocom. That means Collins will be free to sign elsewhere beginning at 3 p.m. Tuesday. “Absolutely there is a chance I will be back,†Collins said. “I love our defense in Chicago. I love the guys I played around and I learned a lot in the last year. I think that they’re going to offer me a one-year minimum (contract) again. I’m going to weigh my options over the next few days, see if someone else wants to offer a multi-year (deal). See what options could be out there for me. “I know there are a lot of things money-wise the Bears have to do to keep the defense in place. I’m not feeling pressured.
