Suddenly, Jay Cutler has too much offensive help? A day after star receiver Brandon Marshall vented after a lack of catches, the Chicago Bears' quarterback brushed off the comments and said his teammate is frustrated because he wants to succeed. ''He's human,'' Cutler said. ''He wants to be personally successful but he knows for us to get where we want to go, everyone has to contribute. ''There's games where he doesn't get 10 balls, 12 balls. He might have five and a touchdown and if we win, he's going to be happy. If we don't, everyone's going to work to see what we can do to fix it.'' Source: Yahoo! Sports DaBears22's Take: Jeffrey had a Bears record 218 receiving yards in a loss but I'm sure if Cutler targeted Marshall more the Bears would have won right?
I think Cutler did the right thing by brushing off Marshall's comments. Don't turn this into a big deal while you don't have to.
well, i have to say i noticed the absence of marshall on sunday when i was watching the game. i couldn't tell if it was because he wasn't getting open or if cutler simply wasn't looking at him though. IF marshall was running around wide open all day and cutler just wasn't looking his way, then that's a problem. I'm just not sure that's what happened.
I remember Marshall making a quite a few catches last year when he was double and triple teamed but that was last year. I just hope Marshall shuts up the rest of the year because he's still going to get his fair share of receptions this season.
Marshall's moping is expected to a degree cuz we know he's wound tighter than a $2 watch but this is starting to get scary. If he doesn't realize that opponents are going to key on him & realize him being a decoy this early is going to pay dividends as the year progresses, a meltdown is more than a possibility. Just what we need...
I always liked Alshon Jeffery coming out of college. The Bears now have a TE who can catch the ball. Also, Forte is a good part of the passing game as well. So it's like pick your poison on who to cover.
