Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler believes if his receivers are going to be difference makers in the NFL, they're going to do it in Mike Martz's system. "If they can do it, this is the system they're going to have the best chance at it," Cutler said on "Mike & Mike In The Morning" on ESPN Radio. "I felt strongly about this group of receivers when I got here. I fought for them. I stood on the table for them. "I think they're a young group. I think they have a lot to prove; have a little chip on their shoulder, which I think is great. They want to go out there and do well. In this system, there are guys flying around everywhere, it puts a lot of pressure on them mentally to learn everything with all of the adjustments. Mike put a lot of pressure on them, and they responded in the right way. That group has the best chance of really profiting from this offense." And Cutler doesn't think that group, which includes Devin Hester, Devin Aromashodu, Johnny Knox and Earl Bennett, needs the addition of Terrell Owens. "I think T.O. is a great player," Cutler said. "I've always been a fan of his when I was in Denver. "No one works harder than T.O. on the practice field, but in the situation we're in, I don't see us going and getting T.O., especially at this time of having to learn the offense and trying to fit in. I'm comfortable, and I think management is comfortable with the receivers we have. But ultimately, that's not my decision." Cutler said he's been working out and is anxious to open training camp on July 30. "Getting ready to roll," he said. "Talking to some of the guys, everyone is getting a little anxious to get back in there. "Only so long you can be off." And Cutler doesn't mind predictions that the Bears will finish third in the NFC North. "People had us in the Super Bowl last year," he said. "That's the last thing I'm going to worry about. "You just hope you get a chance in the second half to be in the driver's seat and playing your best football. We'd rather be [picked] 23rd than third at this point. That's fine with me."
