The Chicago Bears put the time they spent with 33 tryout players in rookie minicamp to good use, adding four of them to the mix Monday.

The Bears signed defensive tackles Corvey Irvin and Christian Tupou and Northwestern wide receiver Demetrius Fields and agreed to terms with Temple cornerback Maurice Jones.

The team released linebacker Dom DeCicco, a core special teams player the last two seasons, and cornerback LeQuan Lewis.

Irvin was a third-round pick of the Carolina Panthers in 2009 and has bounced around the league, spending last year with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Tupou also participated in the team’s minicamp last month.
