Tampa native Rick Casares, a star fullback for the Florida Gators and the Chicago Bears in the 1950s and '60s, died Friday at his Tampa home. He was 82. Casares grew up in Ybor City and attended Jefferson High School, where he graduated in 1949 with a 29-1 record. He went on to the University of Florida, where he was named all-SEC before the Bears drafted him in 1954.
