Brandon Marshall has utilized the F-word -- frustrated -- consistently the last two weeks, both Chicago Bears losses, to describe his feelings about his production. "I've got to do a better job of putting myself in position to beat double coverage, and trying to make myself quarterback-friendly so I can try to make a play for our offense," Marshall said after Sunday's 26-18 loss to the New Orleans Saints. "We're struggling a little bit. ... So the past few weeks have been frustrating." Marshall had just four catches for 30 yards, one being a garbage-time 2-yard touchdown. "As a receiver, you always want the ball," he said. "You know, your mentality is to think it's always better when you're gettin' in. But, you know, coach Trestman is an offensive guru. Jay's a good quarterback. We're going to do what's best for the team." Source: NFL.com Sweets's Take: What's going on in Chi-town? I really thought the Bears would be a tad better than they're showing right now.
I remember there being talk heading into last season of the Bears having a "Big Boy Offense" and as we all know did not happen. I honestly think right now that Cutler has a little more faith in someone like Alshon Jeffery this year unlike last year where 9 times out of 10, the pass was going to Brandon Marshall. The Bears also now have a TE who can catch the ball. I never expected Marshall to repeat his numbers from last year but in the end, I still think he'll have a pretty decent year.
