Chicago Bears returner Devin Hester set an NFL record on Monday night with his 14th career runback of a kick or punt return for a TD. Hester took a 64-yard punt return back against the Minnesota Vikings for a TD. It elevated him above Brian Mitchell for first place all time in combined kick and punt return scores. It was his 10th career punt return TD, which also tied him with Eric Metcalf for most punt return TDs. Hester has played in 74 career games, while Metcalf played in 179. Source: USA Today
Putting it into perspective: Combined KR/punts: Mitchell - 1070 Hester - 287 Punts: Metcalf - 351 Hester - 175 Lovin' this kid is a Bear...
He's a stud on STs sure but him after the game crying about how coaches always told him he'd never be more then a kick returner in the league was some weak butt crap...... best kick returner of all time or not he still hasn't been able to prove them wrong yet.
I think all 22 players on the field at the time knew Hester was scoring on that return after he literally stood there waiting for it to develop...
You guys like it when your STs players cry like babies in post team press conferences the more power to ya.
Tryin' to stir the pot a little, eh, phigs? Watch the vid either again or in it's entirety. He wasn't "crying" about coaches saying he was just gonna be a kick/punt returner. He actually said their were right except he's the best one there ever was. Besides, he was emotional about promoting his STs teammates as being the reason for his success. That wasn't "weak butt crap", that was a refreshing 'ego in check'. As long as he runs the way he does, I'll spot him tissues for the post game water works...
Just calling em like I see em and if you read my post you will see I addressed him being the best ever. I didn't hear him give credit to his teammates but admittedly the sobbing made it tough to hear it all.
Know what you mean... Normally I have no patience for the weeping but the TDs have made me more tolerant, I guess.
