The Pittsburgh Steelers haven't seen much of Mike Wallace since the 2011 season ended. The game-breaking deep threat who's averaged better than 1,200 receiving yards the past two years has skipped offseason training and has yet to sign his $2.7 million restricted free agent tender as he holds out for a far more lucrative, long-term contract. However QB Ben Roethlisberger said Friday he's confident Wallace will be in Latrobe, Pa., when the Steelers open training camp next month. "Absolutely," Big Ben said while appearing on ESPN's SportsCenter. "I think Mike will be there for training camp, that's my hope and thought." Whenever he arrives, Wallace will have to adjust to the playbook and demeanor of new offensive coordinator Todd Haley. Source: USA Today
I think he'll be there. He might hold out 2-3 days if he's not signed to make a point, but I think he shows up and I think he'll be signed long-term. As for learning the playbook, he's already got it, he's been around the facilities numerous times...so it's not like he's coming in cold turkey...
