Bengals FS Taylor Mays Lacked Instincts On Taking Proper Angles

  1. Former 49ers S Taylor Mays will try to rekindle his career with Cincinnati, which traded for him with an eye on bolstering its safety depth. A personnel man familiar with Mays told PFW that Mays' size and "great range" were assets but that he lacked instincts when it came to taking proper angles.

  2. I still think they should move him to OLB instead of FS...

His complete inability in the passing game makes him a 1 dimensional player...and in the NFL it's hard to hide 1 dimensional players because the opposition picks on them. And it's hard to be a good linebacker if you have no instincts when it comes 'to taking proper angles'.

I agree with Dfence but I always thought he lacked a lot more than just instincts. I thought given his raw talent in the right situation he could be a playmaker. That situation did not include Cincy though.
