Brandon Joiner was sentenced to three years in prison for aggravated robbery and felony drug possession from 2007 after the Bengals signed the small school defensive end following the 2012 NFL draft. He was released in January and the Bengals, who were committed to keeping him on the roster last year, placed him on the offseason roster. Unfortunately that story has to come to an unfortunate end. During practice on Thursday, Joiner was carted off the field with a season-ending ACL injury. When Joiner returned to the team this year, he felt grateful towards the Bengals for the opportunity to play in the NFL. "I manned up to it, I took my licks, but I look at life differently, too. I understand how important this is," said Joiner back in May. "I understand that football is an exceptional thing and it's not just given. Everybody can't do this. It's a great opportunity.
