Cincinnati Bengals star defensive tackle Geno Atkins has torn his anterior cruciate ligament, coach Marvin Lewis announced. The Bengals also have lost cornerback Leon Hall for the season with a torn Achilles, linebakcer Rey Maualuga for the next three to four weeks with a knee injury and concussion and running back Giovani Bernard left the game with a rib injury and linebacker James Harrison left the game with a left thumb injury. Source: National Football Post SteveRobWhatever's Take: Huge loss for the Bengals. Atkins is arguably the NFL's top 4-3 defensive tackle and it's going to be close to impossible to make up for his absence. Atkins brings a unique skill set that's hard to find. Not too many 4-3 interior linemen who can pressure the QB like he can. Another key starter goes down for this team, you wonder how many of these they can take before it's too much.
