According to Kevin Goheen of the Cincinnati Enquirer, Bengals coach Marvin Lewis said Monday the reason wide receiver Terrell Owens went into the locker room prior to the final play of the first half of Sunday’s 38-24 loss at New England had to do with his shoes. What specific malfunction was affecting Owens’ game day wardrobe Lewis wouldn’t say. But Lewis assured the assembled media that both Owens and Chad Ochocinco – who had gone inside with doctors for IV treatment – were off the field with his knowledge and that the players who lined up for a final Hail Mary pass were those who had practiced the play the most.
