Bengals Players Tired Of QB Carson Palmer Retirement Talk

Discussion in 'Cincinnati Bengals' started by BigBlueBruiser, Jun 27, 2011.

  1. As the NFL lockout enters its 103rd day, fatigue and frustration while awaiting a resolution aren't the only things that fans are suffering. For Bengals supporters, there is also a case of Carson Palmer fatigue. If the fans aren't feeling it yet, the players certainly are. Whenever there has been a national interview, one of the first three questions concerns the future of the veteran quarterback with the Bengals. Although those here remain convinced he will retire if not traded, that doesn't prevent the question from being asked, but lately though, the comments about Palmer's all but imminent departure have gotten more edgy. There was Adam Jones: "If Carson don't want to be here, damn him, period, point blank.""

Hey guess what, so are the Fans. Even guys like me who don't particularly love or hate the Bengals.

    Screw him. Let him retire.

why is it "heck him" ?

palmer isnt the one who is keeping the story alive.

and who the hell can blame him ? that team is a freaking mess and in run by the worst exec in all of pro sports.

Well I can blame him. He snitched out Chad for the same thing when Chad wanted out. Now hes not only being a hypocrite but a huge butt hole.

P.S. this team was in the playoffs two years ago. They don't suck that bad the coaches do suck though. But with TO and Ocho pretty much done the young talent proved their worth and C Benson is a beast.

    So is the D.

Oh and Carson is a rod, seriously. I WILL RETIRE IF I HAVE TO STAY IN CINCY.
If I was cincy I would keep him and let him retire. Play out your contract like a man or go rot in hell. I loved Cribbs cause even when he was snitching for a new contract he played and played hard.

He snitched out Chad for not coming to practices not for saying he wanted out. He also isn't snitching for a new contract.

If he stays with Cinci, then yeah, he is a hypocrite. If he retires or gets traded like he wants, then he did what he had to do.

Even Boomer Esiason who acted just as you say Palmer should has his back. He says things won't change while the current ownership is in place and doesn't blame him for wanting to get out.

drags, you really miss the boat sometimes.

like rottstein said this nothing like johnson's yearly whirlwind tour of pissing and monaing. not even in the same galaxy.

also, look at the bengals history since mike brown took over - the man should shot for what he has done to that team over the years. what GM in their right mind would rather force a good player into retirement instead of getting something of value in return ?

Definitely do not blame Carson for wanting out. The organization is a mess. My thing is, why would you want to try to keep a guy that has openly stated he wants out? Not trading him .. does what for you? They can get pieces for him, and either way .. they'll still need a QB.

nah - mike brown would rather teach these a-hole players a lesson.

Smeagle is right. Brown doesn't want set a precedent by letting Palmer whine and then in turn getting his way by trading him. Brown is the only person in the organization that believes Palmer will be back. He'd rather waste the salary by keeping him around rather than trade him for something that could actually help the team.

Yeah. Getting something rather than nothing would be better IMO. But, we all know that a lot of these organizations make little to no sense when conducting business.
