Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Brandon Tate was named the AFC's Special Teams Player of the Week, the team announced. Tate returned a fourth-quarter punt 56 yards for a touchdown to clinch the team's 34-12 win over the Seattle Seahawks. Tate averaged 28.3 yards on four kick returns on Sunday, including a 45-yard kick return in the fourth quarter that improved the Bengals' field position on a drive that ended with a 48-yard field goal by Mike Nugent to extend the team's lead to eight points. Claimed off waivers from the New England Patriots, who had selected him in the third round of the 2009 NFL Draft, Tate is fifth in the NFL with a 12.3-yard average on 24 punt returns this season.
