I thought this was a very well put together list. And it should make for some good debate. Check it out. Best, worst first-round NFL draft picks - NFL - Yahoo! Sports
Steelers have a lot of duds that I can think of off the top of my head...Richardson was definitely at the top...if not the worst. Mark Malone Tim Worley (Tom Ricketts was that same season.) Aaron Jones Walter Abercrombie Gabe Rivera (may be the second biggest) Troy Edwards
I can think of a few besides Rocky Thompson...... Dave Brown (Supplemental Draft) Thomas Lewis Cedric Jones Derek Brown Jarrod Bunch
biggest one is certainly jamaine stephens....its not even close. the dude didnt even finish sprints at TC before they had to cut him. spent 2 dismal years with the bengals, then never played football again
Stephens is a good one...but I think he started a good part of a season. He was worthless, but he played more than Richardson or Rivera. I forgot about Daryl Simms too...wet dog with fleas.
dude stephens never played a down for the steelers....30th overall pick cut just a few hours into training camp
Yeah he did. He started 10 games in '98. Cowher cut him on the first day of camp in '99. I remember it, he couldn't finish the sprints and fell to the ground during them. Greg Lloyd counted him out. Cut the same afternoon. He was around for 3 years.
Just from the new Browns, I'd say Gerard Warren and William Green were both worse than Courtney Brown. I'm sure Brown got the nod because he went #1 overall though. Brady Quinn is up there too.
I went to see who they could have chosen. They had a lot to choose from with the Saints. However, I must disagree with their choice. Shawn Knight comes to mind. And based on what we gave up for the chance to draft him is Jon Sullivan. Back in the day just about all of the Saints 1st rounders were head scratchers. People used to drool at the chance to trade with the Saints.
he did play though. It did hamper our development as a franchise. We were so close at that time. Thought maybe a great kicking game could put us over the edge and propel us into the playoffs. But alas, Mecom woke up and went back to his usual crappy ownership.
