  1. Football Is Everything

    Football Is Everything Child Please!

I did thos for an other Forum and I wanted to share it here @ GF

Since Rod Woodson made a list of his top 5 everything I will do the same.

    OFFENSE

    QB:

#1.Peyton Manning: Leadership, Hall Of Fame Numbers, Champion. If Peyton retired right now in 2014 he would be going into the Hall Of Fame. You can make a case for Peyton Manning as the best Qb of all time.

#2. Tom Brady: 3 Rings when ever the game is on the line he steps up to the plate and gets the job done.

#3. Brett Favre: He still has it @ 40 years old. This season he is my MVP, 24 TDs to 3 interceptions is amazing for any QB but when you're doing that @ 40 years old. That's silly!

#4. Drew Brees: Drew Brees has put up numbers that are fantastic. He was 15 yards shy of having the most passing yards in a single season amoung ANY quarterback in NFL history.

#5. Ben Roethlisberger: Is he as good as Steeler nation claim? NO. When you look @2 his numbers in the big game he hasn't showed up. But he gets the job done. He is behind McNabb because McNabb hasn;t ahd the players that Ben had when he entered the game. Nor did McNabb walk into a weak divison. He has all the physical tools that you look for in a QB. Huge body frame great arm and on top of all that CLUTCH. He has 2 Championships joining Brady,Montana,Bradshaw, and Elway as the only QBs to win multiple championships.

    RB:

#1. Adrian Peterson: 6-1 220 (scary thing is he wants to get BIGGER) Adrian Peterson is just a beast. He has all the potential to be the best RB that the NFL has ever seen. He has already broken records in just 2 seasons in the NFL. He is on his way to a Hall Of Fame career.

#2. Chris Johnson: Maybe #1 in some eyes. Speed, speed, and more speed. This guy is simply too fast to be on the girdiron! He is a game changer and a game breaker. he will be around for a loooooooong time making plays and turning heads.

#3. DeAngelo Williams: Maybe a One Year Wounder......But you can't deny his talent. Speed,Quickness,Good hands out of the backfield and most important, he changes games with ONE play. DeAngelo Williams is ready to rock the NFL for years to come.

#4. Maurice Jones-Drew: MJD has had an amazing season, breaking through to crack my top 5. He is only 5-9 but he plays as if he is 6-2 220. He has great hands out of the backfield and is a tough player.

#5. LaDanian Tomlinson: You can't look @ his past 2 seaons and put him @ the bottom end of the RBs in the game. Since 2001 he has been the Chargers offense. Setting records for TDs in a season (28!). IMO LT is still a top 5 back.

    WR:

#1. Randy Moss: I don't want to hear LARRY FITZGERALD. With all due respect to Fitz.....Randy Moss has put up numbers and he's been doing it since day 1. He may be a pr**k but he can still fly like a 22 year old WR @ 32. Where ever he goes he puts up numbers. Minnesota, Oakland(with scrubs @ QB) and he has 34 TDs in 2 seasons as a member of the Patriots. To me Randy Moss is still the best WR in the game.

#2. Larry Fitzgerald: His playoff run may have been the best run I have seen from a single player in my life. He was the Cards MVP of the season and could of been MVP of the SB if the defense made one stop. He is young fast tall and makes circus catches that you don't see everyday. Fitz could end up in Canton when he decides to call it a career.

#3. Calvin Johnson: 6-4 240 4.36 40 yard Dash <---SCARY Good. You don't see WRs that big to start with but to run like a damn scat back and have great leaping ability and body control w/ such a big body fram and still make the catch is amazing.

#4. Andre Johnson: This guy has had a bunch of no names feeding him the ball since day one. Now that he has found trust with Matt Schaub I belive he is ready to have 115 Catches 1,600 Yards and around 14+ TDs in 2009. He is simply a freak of nature.

#5. Steve Smith: Plays Like he is 6-3 215. Smith is the touchest pound for pound WR in the NFL. Speed Strenght And Great Hands and Jumping Ability. And he just makes plays that you may NEVER see again.

    TE:

#1. Antonio Gates: He is basicly a WR playing tightend. He has a great athletic background that helps him on the grid iron. He makes plays that only he can make fromn that position. A-Gates is a future Hall Of Famer walking.

#2. Tony Gonzalez: Seriously....Can you honestly remember this guy dropping a pass that was right in his hands? I can't. Tony G is one helluva player. He has been the KC CHiefs since he walked in the door. He may sour to new heights with an up star Falcon team.

#3. Jason Witten: He could be #1 in a few seasons now that he will be Tony Romo's #1 option in the passing game. Witten has always out up great numbers. When eber he catcdhes the ball he is ALWAYS wide open. Not because of bad coverage because of how he creates seperation

#4. Dallas Clark: You know I was thinking putting Dallas @ #1......There isn't a better TE when it comes to running routes like this guy. Sometimes I ask my self "why does that WR wear #44?"..."Oh crap that Dallas Clark the tight end never mind." He (like all Colt receivers) has that level of trust with his QB that you dont find with most players.

#5. Chris Cooley: Like Clark and Gates he could line up as a WR if needed. He makes clutch plays for the Skins. He has averages 7 TDs per season. That's very impressive when you don't have those "great" QBs tossing you the rock.

    DEFENSE

    DE:

#1.Jared Allen: JA is simply a beast with the most sacks since 2006 he has flurished with Minnesota
and has made that defense een more elite than it already is. IMO he is the games best DE.

#2. Justin Tuck: The real Super Bowl XLII MVP. Justin Tuck is just 27 years of age and has at least 12 years ahead of him. Maeaning hell for offenses. He learned from Hall Of Famer Michael Strahan and he and Osi are the NFLs best DE duo.

#3. Julius Pepepers:This pick may be a little low @ #3. But Peppers isn't far off of Tuck. He wasn't to be a 34 backer (which would be un fair). With his 6-7 270 Frame he may be the most physicaly gifted player in teh NFL today.

#4. Trent Cole: He is the only player w/ 10 sacks 70 tackles and 10 TFL over each of the last 3 years. He has already made the probowl and I belive is the next great eagles DE.

#5. Joh Abraham: Abraham is a perfect NFL DE. 604 255 and moves like a quick cat. HE has the strenght to bull you over and is just an amimal. Finishing with double digit sacks over the last 2 years including a whopping 16.5 in 2008, JA is ready for a great season with ATL.

    LB:

#1. Ray Lewis. He has been the face of the Baltimore Ravens since 1996. With a Super Bowl ring and a Super Bowl MVP under his belt Sugar Ray is a LOCK for the Pro Football Hall Of Fame.

#2. Patrick Willis: The Clone Of Ray Lewis. P-Willie is going to be the next great LB when Lewis retires in 3 or 4 years. He has a total of 315 total tackles in just 2 seasons. That's freaking insane. P-Willie is amoung the NFLs best backers.

#3. Jon Beason: Well his last name portraits his nickname BEAST. This guy is simply an animal and when he gets a hold of you there is NO chance of a broken tackle for extra yards. He may be the best pure tackling linebacker in the NFL today.

#4. James Harrison. BEAST! This guy is the next Lawerence Taylor. Size, Speed, Strenght, that never ending motor that you look for in a LB. Harrison isn't a classic linebacker that stuffs the run but he makes plays and gets turn overs giving the offense just 30 yards to get 6 points on the board.

#5. Bart Scott: You don't think of him as much because he was in Lewis' shadow in Baltimore. But when he goes to New York to be their Ray Lewis you will see the talent he has. He is a game changer who always finds the ball carrier and stuffs him for no gain or a loss.

    CB:

#1. Nnamdi Asomugha: The best CB in the NFL since Deon Sanders. NO DOUBT. This guy has the height to cover most WRs but wehn you find a bigger corner they don't have the quick feet to stay w/ the WRs when they break in and out of there cuts and finish routes. Asomugha does that better than any big CB in the NFL.

#2. Asante Samuel: The best CB when it comes to reading the QBs eyes. Not just before the snap but for the play. He can watch the QBs eyes and still stay with his WR and make the play. He has the most post season INTs amoung active players. He misses on some picks due to his risky play but when he gets a pick he is pretty much a lock to score.

#3. Darrelle Revis: He's only been in the NFL for 2 seaons but he has proved hhe can play with the big boys and that he is a toop 5 corner in the game. When it's crunch time you're a fool to test him. He will make you pay. He always makes the play that turns out to be the difference maker in the game.

#4. Sheldon Brown: Did you know that Sheldon Browns only TD allowed in 2008 was a fade pattern in the NFC Championship. (Jesus himself wouldn't of stopped that pass). You never see this guy get beat deep. Once the WR catches the ball BOOM! They are tackled @ once. Oh and he will be in Eagles fans memories for a long time after delivering 2 crunching hits on Reggie Bush and Steven Jackson

#5. Champ Bailey: When you think top 5 corner in the NFL over the last 5 years. You have to think Champ Bailey. Since 2003 Champ has snagged 25 INTs and returned 3 for touchdowns. Champ isn't the best like he once was but he haasn't lost a spot in the top 5.

    S:

#1. Ed Reed: When you see the ball go in the air you are waiting for Ed Reed to make a crazy INT and go to the house. What this guy does is simply amazing. When he gets an INT it's a sure thing it's going for 6.

#2. Troy Polamaul: This guy should of won the DPOY in 2008. He has all the skills to be the greatest S of all time. He makes INTs that are just inches off the turf and when you need a play made on defense look no further than #43.... TP will make the play that shifts the momentium in the Steeler's favor.

#3. Brian Dawkins: Some say he is too old.....Some say he can't cover.....That may be true but he is the best defensive leader in the NFL, right up thyere with Lewis. He was the heart and soul of the Eagles defense sine 1996 and he will continue to bring leadership and passion to the Broncos.

#4. Adrian Wilson: 18 INTs on the Cards defense is pretty good considering they have lacked pass rush since Adrian stepped in. He may become the next Brian Dawkins in terms of laying somebody out on there back and making a statement and being the emotional leader of a defense.

#5. Michael Griffin: He made BIG plays last season for Tennssee including a pick 6 that locked HFA for the Titans. In a few seasons he may be #1 in the NFL. He still has a little of a learning curve ti take care of but that comes over time in teh NFL. Like I said one day he will be #1 but for now.....Top 5

    HOF

    Offense

    QB

    1. Brett Favre. 3 MVps (going to be 4) 1 Super Bowl Championship (Going to be 2) Brett Favre in my eyes is the greatest QB to ever play in the NFL. He has the most yards, completions, consecutive starts, touchdowns, and the one thing that matters in the NFL.... Most WINS.

    2. Johnny Unitas-To me he is the father of the QB position. This list of QBs will be the best debate amoung my list of top 5's. To me what he did in the NFL as for records and winning is just too tough to top in my eyes. And his 47 straight games with a TD pass still stands as a NFL record.

3-Otto Graham- 11 NFL Seasons. 8 Championships! Oh and he took his team to the Championship game EACH season he played. Pretty damn good! Not #1 but he isn't far off. He really made people turn heads and took the AFL as a real real not just a league the the NFL could use as a punching bag for NFL vs NFL games.

4-Joe Montana-4-0 record in the Super Bowl along with 11 TDs vs 0 INTs (one of just 2 QBs not to throw an INT in the Super Bowl)

5-John Elway-The most talented QB I have ever seen. Laser arm, great running ability. If he had had a running game from the start he would be 5-0 in Super Bowl play. Until Favre came and took his record, Elway was the winningest QB in league history.

    RB

1-Jim Brown-I dont care about era. When you run for all the yards and TDs and a 5.2 YPC in just 9 seasons and considering he could of done BETTER,there is no RB that compares to Jim Brown.

2-Walter Payton-Simply amazing. IDK how he did it. Speed Power he had it all. He was the Bears offense in the 80's. It's a shame Ditka didn't give him the rock in the Big Dance. RIP to a great man and the 2nd best RB in NFL history.

3-Barry Sanders-He made players look stupid in the open field. If he was one on one with a player there's no chance of him being stopped. He made plays that we will nhever see again.

4-Emmitt Smith-It would be crazy to put the NFLs all time leading rusher off this list. With over 18,000 yards in his career and 3 SB rings and a SB MVP. Emmitt Smith to me is a no brainer for this list.

5-LaDainian Tomlinson-The most TDs amoung RBs. Tomlinson has proven himself as a top 5 RB in the NFL and in the history of the NFL. He changes games with just one carry. He has been that offense in SD since day 1.

    WR

    1-Jerry Rice-No need to explain.

2-Lynn Swann-The stats were not there. But who in NFL history was more acrobatic and more sure handed than Lynn Swann? NOBODY! He always made the big plays for the Steelers in the big games and was a key in there dynasty run in the 70's.

3-Cris Carter-I did say Swann was the most sure handed WR. But he made the best catches the NFL will ever see. It dodn't matter if he had to tip toe the side lines or if he was double covered he would make the catch. "We need to get him in Canton, where he belongs."-Jamie Dukes

4-Randy Moss-A controversial pick here. But Moss has put up great numbers since day 1. He Had 17 TDs in his rookie season. Rice had just 2 seaons with 17+ TDs. And in 2007 Moss joined him to be the only player in NFL history to do so.

5-Marvin Harrison-The great Marvin Harrison. What is there to say? This guy has been lighting up DBs since he stepped in the NFL. He is a lock for the HOF.

    TE

1-Kellen Winslow-Simply a warrior. Played the game of his life in a double OT thriller in Miami while battling the flu. He was the main target for Dan Fouts in the Chargers dynamic passing attack which rocked the National Footall League.

2-Tony Gonzalez-Holds all the records and had sub QB play through out his entire career. He isn't #1 because Winslow was a true warrior. But Tony-G is simply amazing.

3-John Mackie-People always think of Unitas to Berry. But IMO he was the best run after the catch TE in the game when he played and of all time. He was the key to the Colts success behind Johnny U.

4-Dave Kasper-Always came up big when oakland needed someone to step up. Making one of the greatest plays in NFL history "The Ghost To The Post". Not bad for a converted OT from Notre Dame.

5-Mike Ditka-He played the game like he coached it. TOUGH. He was a bad man! Mike Ditka was the first true balanced TE. The NFL really never saw a TE who could catch like Iron Mike and block like him.

    Defense

    DE:

1-Reggie White. Not only was he a great player, but even a better man. Reggie White had a gift that the NFL had never seen from a pass rusher since Deacon Jones. If the head slap rule wasn't taken away he could of been the greatest defensive force in pro sports history. Winning a Super Bowl was his signature moment in his Hall Of Fame Career. Rest In Peace

2-Bruce Smith-The all time sack leader. One of the greatest players in the history of the NFL. Bruce will be remembers for his record 200 career sacks and being a key contributor to the Bills 4 Peat of AFC Champoions.

3-Deacon Jones-He invented the "head slap" which is no longer leagal due to his physical play. Decon Jones if he wanted could of killed an OT if he wante don the field. Some say he is #1 and It's understandable. The numbers are there. But to me he is top 5.

4-Jack Youngblood-I’ll defend this selection with anyone who doesn’t like Youngblood as the fourth best defensive end of all-time. Youngblood had over 150 sacks in the 70s of course before it was recorded as an official statistic. I loved Youngblood’s intensity and to this day, say that Youngblood possessed one of the game’s best fear inspiring faces of all-time. He was very good vs the ran and was a dynamic pass rusher.

5-Howie Long: When you think freakishly dominant DE you must think of Howie Long. This guy was a beast. And could still get 6-8 sacks today if he wanted. IMO he is a top DE of all time.

    LB:

1-twinky Butkus-He invented the "big hit". Butkus was a tough dude. He was the leader of Halas' Bears which ruled the NFL in the 50's and 60's. To me he is the best LineBacker the NFL has ever seen. And I don't think he will ever be replaced as #1.

2-Chuck Bednarik-Some people will dis agree here. But just hear me out. Coming from the War into the NFL to play C and LB (which means you are taking hits each and every play and can't get a break) and he did it his entire career with out missing a game. 169 games didn't miss a single one. He was a true warrior and one of the NFLs all time greats.

3-Ray Lewis-Ray Lewis. what is there to say? This guy has been teh most productive defensive player in the NFL since he was drafted. He has been the face of the Ravens franchise since day 1. With a Ring on his finger and multiple NFL awards there's no question he is a top 5 LB in NFL history.

4-Lawerence Taylor-Like I said about his pass rushing skills. If he was just a pure LB he could of been better than Butkus. He was a versitle LB. He was the 1st true LB who could stuff the run,get after the Qb, and cover TEs down field.

5-Derrick Thomas-He is finally going to Canton. Thank the football gods. DT was the new LT. Pass Rushing, Run stuffing SOB who could kill you with one hit if he wanted to. With 2 games w/ 6 sacks and one with a NFL best 7.....That speaks for it self as do his career numbers.

    CB:

1-Deon Sanders-He may have been a flashy guy. But he had talent that we will never see from a CB ever again. He could line up 10 yards off the WR during the play and still make the INT. Each pass he picked off you weren't on the edge of your seat to see how crazy his return would be.....you would be standing up.

2-twinky Lane-The first true shut down corner the NFL saw. With a record 14 INTs in his rookiee season Night Train mastered the CB position like no other. You can make a great case for Night Train as the best but he didn't have the great skills like Deon. But he had the speed to stick with the WR.

3-Mel Blount-The most underrated player amoung the Steelers during the 70's. BradshawmSwann,Stallworth,Harris,Lambert,Ham,Greenwood,Green.....This guy was truly a monster @ corner. He shut down the best WRs on the biggest stage (Pearson).

4-Rod Woodson-1st things 1st. Congrats Rod on making it to the HOF! This guy played nearly 20 NFL seasons and just for 2 teams. Most remembered for his days with Pittsburgh (which he should of won a title). He had some good days in Baltimore with Lewis and the Ravens collecting a Super Bowl title in 2000.

5-Willie Brown-The one play that sticks out when you think of this guy. His game clinching pick =6 in the Super Bowl vs Minnesota. Brown was a great CB who had it all. Size, Speed, Great Cover Skills, and had a perfect personality for the Raiders.

    S:

1-Ronnie Lott-I think it̢۪s a no brainer that Lott is the greatest safety of all-time. He made plays that were amazing. He could even line up @ corner and shut down your WR as well as he could lay them out on the turf.

2-Ken Houston-He was really ahead of his time. Playing in the 60's where tyhe passing game really became the new style of the NFL. Houston made great plays and was one of the first safeties to make INTs.

3-Larry Wilson-He invented the safety blitz. Larry Wilson was the 1st tru guy to run across the line and blow up the RB or sack teh QB in the backfield. He helped pave the way for the play making safties of today.

4-Brian Dawkins-This guy has been the heart and soul of the Eagles. I know he isn't with the Eagles anymore. But what he has done in 13 seasons in the is just amazing. He is right up there with Ray Lewis as the best leader on and off the field for a defense.

5-Ed Reed-PLAYMAKER. That is what Ed Reed is. If it's from making a sack in the clutch or setting a NFL record with a 108 Yard Pick 6 (Thanks Kolb ). Ed Reed IMO is a top 5 safety in the hostory of the NFL

I am a bit biased.....but CJ is my #1 RB with AP a distant second. Chris Johnson is Barry Bonds on cleats IMO, you never know when he'll hit a homerun. That threat opens things up so much for the rest of the Titans offense.

Peterson is just too damn strong. CJ isnt as strong as AD he wont boune off of a safety and keep going @ full speed like Peterson.

Yea but he will shake him and run right by.

  8. Crowned

    Crowned Doesn't give a shit.

Power > speed, IMO... If I'm taking one back it's AP. He's the better all around back. CJ is definitely right behind him though.

    DT was amazing!

Depending on how you break down linebackers he had some better skills than LT
