What are the best sports cities/fans in general? This not only includes football but how the cities/fans support support their other sports regardless of how many/which sports they have. and i'm sure the members of GIF are smart enough not to say Atlanta, Miami, or Los Angeles. The best all around sports support in my opinion comes from Philadelphia, Boston, and Chicago. Who else am I missing?
I say Philly, even though theyre dumber then heck [haha, jk] they back their teams regardless of how bad they actually are.. and they'd fight to the death to tell you how great their team is, even when they're not gonna make the playoffs.
Eh i dont know the sixers are doing pretty bad with filling the seats even though there was a little buzz when iverson came back. I think that might just be basketball because the eagles will most likley be sold out if the suck or not. boston as much as i hate them cause i have alot of family there have some pretty good fans. They love all there teams
that's a good point. buffalo fans support the bills through thick and thin. do they support the sabres pretty well also? and i would have said the 'green bay' fans for their support of the packers through thick and thin but i'm not sure how well they support the bucks and brewers when they suck (which is often)
The thing I have about big teams... and cities.. is.. Cowboys, Knicks, Yankees, Red Sox etc etc.. All of those teams, get the most bandwagon riding heckers to join them. Look how long the Eagles were good, they don't pick up a lot of bandwagons, cuz either you love philly teams, or you hate philly teams. Then you got a Chicago fan, who's really not pumped about the Bulls UNTIL the arrival of Lebron, which i don't see happening. I just don't consider bandwagon likable teams eligible for this thread. Then you have a Raiders fan calling out a eagles fan for running their QB out of town........ Didn't Russell just get cut?? ... anyways, thats another story i suppose.
What reason would a Boston fan have not to be happy the last decade. It's a good time to be fan of the Patriots, Redsox, and Celtics... The Bruins aren't bad either, despite their ability to choke.
well, while i agree, boston fans traditionally have supported their teams pretty well even in lean years other than the patriots in the 70's and 80's ................. but over the past 20 years, their support of all of the major sports have been pretty solid.
all your northeast corridor cities have great fanbases. we hate each other as fans of the opposing teams but you do respect them - well except for mets fans anyway.
well, i've been to a lot of nfl games in my life and philly fans put the rest to shame in regards to obnoxiousness ................ but they are passionate i will give them that .................
yeah sorry about treating you like that but you tend to replace championship talk with obnoxiousness. :icon_cheesygrin:
