Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo had the team over a barrel when it came to the salary cap earlier this offseason and that was just one factor in the massive $108 million, six-year contract extension he received. The Cowboys have placed their faith – and the future of at least the next three seasons – in Romo. It’s incumbent upon him to lead the team and in that vein he’s going to have a greater role in the process as a whole. According to Ed Werder of ESPN, Romo will have “influence in game plans, personnel and play calling.†Werder reports that Romo will join coaches on Mondays and Tuesdays as the weekly game plans are assimilated and have an opportunity to provide input.
