Bill Parcells doesn't believe that Mark Sanchez is quite ready to carry the load to help dig the Jets out of their three-game slide according to Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News. "He's a developing player, just like all young quarterbacks, and there's going to be some good and some not-so-good," the former Jets and Giants coach told ESPN Radio Tuesday. "Before you can drive a Ford, you have to be able to drive a Cadillac. If they get everything good around him, I think it will go well. Right now, I don't think he can take the team completely on his shoulders." Source: The Redzone
Why would anyone want to drive a Ford over a Cadillac? Did somebody misquote him or am I missing something?
LMAO. Somebody had to have hecked that up...right? At this rate, Sanchez would need to learn to drive a Pinto.
Ok next time I'll google the person I don't know. That should keep the thread active. :icon_rolleyes: I don't think Sanchez is fully matured as a QB. But he will.
I don't think much of Sanchez. He was way over valued coming out of USC. Can he develop? Maybe, but I can't get past the facts that when he is asked to pass, he makes mistakes, unless he can run off a play action.
Sanchez played one year in college. How can he be expected to shine with no experience. I don't think he will be a great qb. Maybe like a Rich Gannon or Trent Dilfer type. Gets the job done but not a superstar.
Thing is he does have the talent. Its his third year in the league. He's won 4 playoff games...all on the road, he was flawless against the Patriots. He can play in the league. However, this season he's regressed more than any player in the league. He's been awful in all aspects of the game. He couldn't hit that screen pass to McKnight, he was late in a couple passes to Burress that probably would've been complete and when Brandon Moore, who is your RG is calling out the blitzes before Sanchez..........you're in trouble. How does an OLineman become more aware of what the defense is doing and how to attack it before your QB?!?
ok, i'm going to rant a little bit ........... i'll feel better in a minute ..... :ranting: it still amazes me how many people 'perceived' that sanchez was a good qb in his first couple of seasons. the jets have been winning DESPITE sanchez the last couple of years. the guy should not be mentioned in ANY conversation about being 'good' or even an 'average' starting nfl qb. He is and has always been a below-average starting qb. He is inconsistent. He makes poor decisions. He is innacurate. Sanchez = Alex Smith = Rex Grossman ............... teams with QB's like these do everything they can to keep the QB from having to win the game for them. He IS and has always been a marginal starter and his teams have to run offensive schemes/plays that protect themselves as much as possible from his poor decisions and poor throws.
