Bills DE Mario Williams underwent a procedure on his left wrist, head coach Chan Gailey confirmed Wednesday. “The update on Mario is he had a procedure done to relieve some discomfort in his wrist and we expect him back for practice this week,†Gailey said. “That’s all I know at this point." Williams, who signed a six-year contract worth as much as $100 million with the Bills in March, has only 3½ sacks this season and has been open about discussing the nagging wrist injury affecting his production. The team has downplayed the injury, to the point where it was fined $20,000 by the league for violating the injury-reporting policy after not listing Williams on its injury report. “They told me what happened and said he’ll be ready next week,†Gailey said. “He’ll be at practice next week.
