The Buffalo Bills have turned the lights out on Shawne Merriman, whose NFL career has been in free fall since 2007 and suffered another blow Monday with his release. Merriman confirmed the development to FOXSports' Jay Glazer, who first reported it. Merriman was a terror during his first three seasons as a San Diego Charger, rolling up 39.5 sacks from 2005 to 2007, but he's struggled with a litany of injuries since and has registered five sacks in the past four seasons. He probably wasn't an ideal fit any longer for the Bills as they convert back to a 4-3 defense that boasts free agent additions Mario Williams and Mark Anderson on the edge, Merriman has spent most of his career as a 3-4 outside linebacker. Are there any good fits out there for him at present, the New York Jets often run the 3-4, need pass rush help and have shown willingness to roll the dice on reclamation projects in the past. Bad move by the Bills. The coaching staff does not know how to use players like Merriman. When they released Maybin last year, the Jets picked him up and he had 6 sacks. Merriman won't be a free agent for long, the Pats, Jets or Ravens will pick him up.

Yeah... I think it is, so far this guy has been wrong about more things than he has been right, remember VY is the greatest QB EVER!!!!!! BETTER THAN BREES!!!!!! Merriman is NOTHING without the juice, and I admit I thought he could still perform at least at a steady level back after he first lost the juice, but I was wrong.
wouldnt mind the steelers bringing him in for a workout. At this point in his career he could probably play backup MLB for us or be depth on the outside
This His whole reason for being good was the juice once that was gone it was down hill Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
Someone will pick him up. But I doubt he will be relevant ever again. What a shame too, such a promising career.. smh
i agree to an extent, but i dont think he would have been a nobody without roids but they certainly destroyed him as much as they made him a monster. His knees, ligaments, joints in general were shot from being able to train so much harder and he lost all ability to heal and recover like someone should.
