Playing one Bills game in Toronto every year is “pretty much a joke,â€￾ center Eric Wood said recently, but the series is a cash cow for the franchise and has just been extended another five years, the Toronto Sun is reporting.

The deal was first reported last May but was delayed by the team's lease negotiations at Ralph Wilson Stadium in Buffalo, according to the Sun.

The Bills -- who are 1-4 in regular-season games at Rogers Centre, where they lack a true homefield advantage – are expected to announce the extension at a Tuesday news conference.

Rogers Media paid the team $78 million for those five games, plus two preseason games, in the old contract. A source told the QMI news agency the new deal, which includes only one preseason game, is for “significantly less.â€￾
