Bills safety Jairus Byrd dismissed reports of his camp trying to engineer a trade.

The Buffalo News, citing an executive from another NFL club and an agent not employed by the player, reported Byrd and his agent are trying to work out a trade before the Oct. 29 deadline.

Byrd questioned that report on Thursday.

"From what I understand someone is saying sources, I mean I would like to know what sources they're talking about before they just say sources," Byrd said, according to the team's website.

"My focus is really just on football right now honestly. My teammates they mean the world to me. I don't want to be any distraction to them like we have a big game coming up and we need to be 100 percent focused on New England and that's that."

Byrd, a two-time Pro Bowl selection, was hit with the franchise tag earlier this year and is set to make $6.9 million this season.

The 26-year-old Byrd is battling through an injury, plantar fasciitis in his foot.
