The Buffalo Bills recently re-signed running back Fred Jackson to a two-year contract extension. Brian McIntyre of Mac’s Football Blog reports that Jackson was only guaranteed a $3 million signing bonus. The Bills could essentially release Jackson following the season and only have to pay him his signing bonus. He can earn $1.1 million in incentives tied to rushing yards, receiving yards, rushing touchdowns, playing time, Pro Bowls and playoffs in 2013-14. Source: Brian McIntyre, Mac’s Football Blog
He got a fair contract for a RB over 30. His carries are going to go down as well with C.J Spiller expected to get more carries.
well, and, ostensibly, he's going to make over $5 mill this season, which isn't bad for any running back in today's game. In 2013 and 2014, he won't make much, but, like bbf said, he might be nothing more than a rotational guy at that point as Spiller matures so it's actually not a bad deal for Jackson.
