The Buffalo Bills have released veteran RB Dominic Rhodes, FoxSports.com's Alex Marvez reports. Rhodes signed a two-year, $2.4 million deal with the Bills in April. With Rhodes off the roster and with starting RB Marshawn Lynch to miss the first three regular season games due to his suspension, it's almost certain than second-year RB Xavier Omon will make the 53-man roster.

I like Omon, I watched him play in college a few times and he was a beast. Of course it wasn't D1 football.

Omon's been very average so far in the pros. Rhodes was better. Maybe they just didn't have a role for him after Marshawn's suspension ends in Week 4. Still a puzzling cut to me.

Really? Puzzling? Seems like classic Bills to me.

Rhodes is someone I wouldn't mind seeing the Bears sign now that Kevin Jones is out for the year.
