  1. For the first time, the Vikings have publicly discussed free agent running back LaDainian Tomlinson's reported visit to Minnesota on Thursday. Star-Tribune beat reporter Judd Zulgad posted a Tweet on Wednesday from Vikings coach Brad Childress on the fact that Tomlinson joining the team would be as a backup to Adrian Peterson. "I would think he knows that, but I always want to over-communicate clarity so we won't hopscotch around that [topic]," Childress said. Zulgad also reported Wednesday that if an agreement on playing time and money can be reached, Tomlinson could be a Viking soon.
