Clinton Portis' weekly chat on The John Thompson Show on ESPN 980 featured a spirited debate with former Redskins kick returner/running back Brian Mitchell, who is a co-host of the show.

Listen to This.It starts to get out of hand.

I believe it might have been the other way, but it was still funny.

It sounds like Portis doesn't know how to listen. I wonder what kind of leader he is?

Then why does it sound like he goes on and on about himself and not address his issue with Mitchell? What does he sound like if he has a problem with one of his teammates in the locker room? Can he do no wrong? He's a great back but you have to be somewhat humble, be willing to listen to criticism, and change to be a great leader IMHO.

How can you be on his side, assuming it's based on this audio?

Mitchell said that he says good things and bad things about him, but all he tells is the truth as he sees it. Portis said that he didn't hear all of the positive things Mitchell said about him.

Portis told him that he should have told him face to face like a man. Mitchell then asked him why Portis didn't step to him like a man about how he feels. Portis didn't do it because he was worried about how far things might go. A man doesn't instantly get into fisticuffs because someone mentioned something negative about him.

Mitchell's got a radio show, he states his opinions on the air. If Portis doesn't hear all of the things that Brian has to say, how is that Mitchell's fault?

Mitchell handled things like a professional and a man. Portis sounded like he was hurt because something negative was said about him without knowing all of the facts.

This is not the first time hes tried to start something with Portis. He is pissed on how the Skins treated him.

Do you feel in past shows that B-Mitch was just ripping into Portis with an agenda instead of honesty? I'm asking you seriously because I don't know their past history.

Let me Tell you that Mich and Snyder arent in a good Relationship. Snyder is very close with Portis(No Not that Close:icon_smile: ). And in the past shows Mich was doing his job as analyzing. And honnestly, if I talked bad about you and the facts arent true, you will surely be mad as hell. AND what did Portis said after the game (Saints)I was misquoted

Mitchell has being on Portis' jock for a while, he had a go at him over how he comes out of games at times and consider Mitchell was never a full time runner, more a situation guy (a very good one) I find that something hard for him to call Portis out on.

I do like the way Mitchell doesn't sugar coat things, he acts like a fan and says what is on his mind, at the same time, Portis tends to do the same thing and talks before the brain engages so it doesn't alway come across as he intended. It's a storm in a tea cup, I just think Portis felt he had to shout Mitchell down.
