The Denver Broncos remain hopeful that Pro Bowl outside linebacker Elvis Dumervil will play this season after tearing his pectoral muscle, the Denver Post reports. "Based on nearly everything I've been hearing, Elvis Dumervil is expected back this season," Broncos beat writer Mike Klis writes. "Dumervil probably won't even be out for the season, much less for his career. He suffered a torn pectoral, not an amputated femur. Barring a setback in his rehab, expect Dumervil to return and play in 2010." The Broncos would likely just hold a roster spot for Dumervil and not place him on injured reserve with the thought being that perhaps he could be ready at the end of the season. By the end of the season when Dumervil can return the Broncos will be so far out of anything, it wouldn't be worth the risk of him re-injuring himself.
