The Denver Broncos held quarterback Peyton Manning out of practice Wednesday because of a minor ankle injury he suffered in the 39-33 loss to the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday night.

However, Manning said he would practice Thursday and that he planned to play Sunday against the Washington Redskins.

"It was [head trainer Steve Antonopulos'] call, I didn't go down without a fight, I assure you,'' Manning said following Wednesday's practice. " … I look forward, hopefully, being out there [Thursday].''

DaBears22's Take: The injury is minor apparently but can't blame Denver for wanting to rest Manning. Sounds like he'll be good to go for tomorrow's practice.

If the injury is minor, no need to risk making it worse in practice.
