Not since his days at Purdue has Denver Broncos quarterback Kyle Orton entered training camp as the definitive starter. With the promotion comes more snaps, responsibility and a heap of pressure as Orton now resides in the long shadow cast by Hall of Famer John Elway. It's Orton's job now, but Simms can make up ground. "We're going to evaluate the quarterbacks just like we do every other position," McDaniels said. "If Chris is the most effective quarterback in our system by September, then he'll start ... It's going to make Kyle a better football player, it's going to make Chris a better football player and hopefully it's going to make our team a better football team." Source: The Seattle Times
I'm curious to see what happens with Orton, especially if Marshall stays in Denver...He's a guy that never really had any weapons at the pro level, and I think people are a little to quick to think of him as a subpar QB.
I second that. I've seen it firsthand & it wasn't pretty. It'll be good to see KO finally get a fair shot.
:icon_cheesygrin: Orton is not very good... matter fact Broncos should have open tryouts to the public to replace Orton.....
Orton can get the job done, probably not this year but the running game will stay strong and the defense is slowly getting setup to be a nasty 3-4 D. All Orton will have to do is manage the game in 2-3 years and just sit there and look pretty.
