According to Jason La Canfora of NFL.com, Broncos owner Pat Bowlen is "not locked in" to any decision regarding coach Josh McDaniels' future. McDaniels has won just five of his past 21 games, and his recent run-in with the league office over some illegal videotapes hasn't helped matters. Bowlen backed off his vote of confidence in the young coach, which is never a good sign, and his future will likely be determined by the Broncos' final five games of this season. Still, there are certainly financial factors in play that could make firing him very costly. Source: RotoTimes.com
now a days coaches dont have chance to build a team most coaches are out 4-5 yrs or sooner unlike the olden days when coaches stayed with a team for many many yrs
The thing about McDaniels is that he's not going to be able to bring in a "big name" coordinator and if Bowlen makes front office changes, those guys are going to want to bring in their own head coach and staff, so McDaniels is in a real weird position right now. It's going to be hard for him to improve...
As I said before, the Broncos job was not a good first coaching job for him. Too many expectations on a young coach, and not enough time was going to be given for him to develope his own team. He would have been smart to start with one of the weaker teams, where the owner would be more apt to give him more time.
