Former Bears quarterback Caleb Hanie has agreed to a two-year deal with the Denver Broncos, according to a source familiar with the situation. The signing comes just a few days after Hanie visited the Broncos on Wednesday, the same day the club attempted to trade Tim Tebow to the New York Jets. With the trade of Tebow finally complete, the Broncos began the process of looking to find veteran backups for new starting quarterback Peyton Manning. Hanie will be given a chance to win Denver's No. 2 quarterback job outright in training camp and the preseason. A former collegiate standout at Colorado State, Hanie started four games for the Bears last year in place of the injured Jay Cutler.

Their QB stable would still be better than what they had last year even if Peyton gets injured...lol.

They could have signed a turtle and had a better QB stable.

When Hanie came in the NFC Championship Game against the Packers, there wasn't enough game film on him. Then when Cutler went down, Hanie had the chance to prove his worth and failed big time. If I where John Elway, i'd bring in some competition for the backup QB job. Make Hanie earn it and not just hand it to him.
