QB Kyle Orton will start for the Denver Broncos according to ESPN's Adam Schefter, interviewed on SportsCenter Wednesday. Much of the offseason rumblings in Denver revolved around Orton departing the Mile High City so the Broncos can officially begin the Tim Tebow era. Reports connected Orton to the Dolphins, supplanting Chad Henne under center, but those talks are now dead, says NBC Miami's David Hill. "Talks broke down when Denver asked for more than Miami was offering in exchange for Orton," writes Hill. The Dolphins have since signed free agent QB Matt Moore, who began the 2010 season as the Carolina Panthers' starting quarterback before injuries ended his season, but that hasn't appeased Dolphins fans, who have irked coach Tony Sparano with chants of 'We want Orton.' Amid the swirling trade rumors, Orton was well in the lead according to Mike Klis of the Denver Post. "Kyle Orton is the Broncos' No. 1 quarterback free and clear," writes Klis. "There was no mixing in the other quarterbacks with the first-team offense. Orton took them all." Source: USA Today
Smart. But at the same time. It might not be. Tim Tebow is making a lot if money riding the pine...that's a big investment to be doing nothing...and not knowing if it was worth it.
