ESPN's Adam Schefter is reporting via his Twitter page that the Cleveland Browns have acquired quarterback Seneca Wallace from the Seattle Seahawks. Wallace was drafted in 2003 by Seattle and initially used as a wide receiver. Browns President Mike Holmgren is familiar with Wallace and impressed by his development at the quarterback position. Hearing now that it's for a 2011 draft pick....no word on what round which means it's likely a conditional pick.
There's a reason why Seattle wasted no time when his contract ran out in 06 to re-sign him immediately. He's better than any QB on that roster.
They can do some funky crap with Seneca and Josh Cribbs in the Wildcat. Both can run, catch and throw.
I don't be surprised if he beats Quinn for the starting Job, Wallace is more underrated that people give him credit for.
I'd like to see Seneca Wallace start for the Browns and it wouldn't be the worst idea either. It's going to be another dismal season for them. They have to bring another QB in via the draft but in the meantime they can start Seneca this year and have their QB wait in the wings.
